TEMPORARY ADVOCATE POSITION
Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, support to vcitms of domestic violence residing in our 23 bed Safe Home. Other duties include answering 24 hour helplines. Education and prior experience necessary. Bilingual/bicultural preferred.
Tuesdays through Fridays - 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturadys 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Position begins November ending in February.
PART TIME FAMILY ADVOCATE
Primary responsibility to implement the Safe Families Collaboration Program in Providence. Collaborate with the Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) to provide families with resources and safety planning. Including:
* identify underlying issues relating to domestic violence;
* identify appropriate support services that may assist FCCP's;
* assist in identifying additional resources and support to promote positive and
expeditious case termination;
* provide a link with Family Court in a way to ensure coordination and appropriate family support within the community where safety to the child is not a factor and DCYF intervention is not warranted.
This is a part time position, 25 hours per week. Bachelor's degree and prior domestic violence experience required. Bilingual/bicultural preferred.

The Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center is a non profit agency providing comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence. The Board of Directors is interested in expanding its size and are looking to the community we serve to ask for help. Responsibilities include:
v Regularly attend board meetings and important related meetings.
v Make a serious commitment to participate actively.
v Volunteers for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time.
v Stays informed about agency matters.
v Actively participates in annual evaluation and planning efforts.
v Participates in fund raising for the organization.
