| | Elder Abuse Prevention Program
The Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center has recently increased our services to provide the Elder Abuse Prevention Program. Our Elder Advocate provides crisis intervention services, court accompaniment and services to our senior clients.
Family members can hurt us in many ways and at any age, whether we are sick or healthy. We can be hurt through physical, emotional and financial abuse or neglect. Abuse can happen to anyone.
Some of the ways family members can hurt us:
v | Control what we do, who we see or where we go |
v | Make threats (such as to leave or put us in a nursing home) |
v | Call us names |
v | Manipulate our medication |
v | Hurt our pets |
v | Hit, shake, push, burn or choke us |
v | Force us to perform sexual acts |
v | Isolate us from friends or family |
Please contact our Elder Advocate for more information about our Elder Abuse Prevention Program at (401) 723-3057 or info@bvadvocacycenter.org
